Plant-Based Power Balls

The line between snacks and desserts is a very fine one, and quite frankly I am completely okay with that. These protein-packed energy balls are nutrient dense and absolutely divine. They're the perfect pre-workout snack or a mid-afternoon energy boost. They also work as a dessert when crumbled over a scoop of plant-based ice cream. However you eat them, it is undeniable that these power balls are crazy good. With or without the chocolate, they are easy, simple, and delicious.

RECIPE


INGREDIENTS

- 1 cup rolled oats

- 1/2 cup nut butter of choice

- 1/4 cup maple syrup

- 2 tbsp hemp seeds

- 2 tsp chia seeds

- 1/3 cup dark chocolate


METHOD

In a bowl, combine the nut butter, maple syrup, hemp seeds, and chia seeds. Once combined, add in the rolled oats. Mix until fully combined. In a microwave safe bowl add the chocolate, and melt depending on your microwave's settings. In the meantime, shape the dough into balls and place in the freezer. Dizzle the melted chocolate onto the balls and place in the freezer again. Once the chocolate is hardened, enjoy! Store in the fridge or freezer, but freezer is recommended to prevent the chocolate from melting.
