One of my favorite food variations to try is different pizza crusts. I’ve had broccoli and kale crusts, cauliflower crusts, tortilla crusts, and the list goes on. I had never thought of using tofu as a pizza crust, but now that I’ve tried it, I don’t think I can go back. Of course, the crust is delicious, but it stands out because it is packed with lots of protein. I recommend you try it out!

RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
- 1 block of extra firm tofu
- 2 tsp salt
- ~1 cup of white whole wheat flour (amount may vary)
- Pizza toppings of choice: I used tomato sauce, minced garlic, red onion, red and yellow bell peppers, mozzarella, parmesan, oregano, basil, salt, pepper, olive oil, and balsamic vinegar
METHOD
Preheat the oven to 400°F. In a blender, add the tofu and salt and blend until smooth. Add the blended mixture to a bowl and knead the flour in 1/4 cup at a time. The amount of flour needed will depend on how much water is in the tofu. Once the dough is no longer sticky and has pulled away from the sides of the bowl, roll it out on a pan or pizza stone and bake for 15 minutes. Take the crust out, add the toppings, and bake for another 10-15 minutes. Drizzle olive oil and balsamic vinegar once the pizza has slightly cooled. Enjoy!
